- <p> Meet Georgie Anne Geyer, A feisty foreign correspondent
- who has turned her tape recorder on Khomeinis, Gaddafis and
- kings. She's smart and sophisticated, tough and tenacious. She
- would make a great character on a hip TV show. Now meet Georgie
- Anne Lahti, the wily ex-journalist played by MARKIE POST on the
- new CBS sitcom Hearts Afire. Both Georgie Annes are hard
- driven, both live in D.C., and both penned books about Fidel
- Castro. Coincidence? That's what Hearts creator Linda
- Bloodworth-Thomason claims. But the real-life reporter doesn't
- buy it. "I'm not pleased. It's an appropriation of my persona,"
- says Geyer, 57, who has fired off a letter to the show's
- producers via her attorney. According to Bloodworth-Thomason,
- the breezy TV Georgie is instead loosely based on brassy Italian
- journalist Oriana Fallaci.
